Austin Barker is a long-time friend and crew chief for Timmy Thrash. Austin was recently diagnosed with ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  He has had a bone marrow biopsy, PICC line placement, and a spinal tap.  He started chemotherapy late in October, and is currently waiting to see if there is a bone marrow match in the registry. For the latest updates on Austin please visit his Caring Bridge page by Clicking Here and show him and his family support during this trying time.

May 5th, 2012 - Saturday night found the team in competition at Baton Rouge Raceway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) in a Cajun Sprint Car Series event. Heat race action found Thrash starting fourth in his heat race, and that's where he would finish to lock into the eighth starting spot for the feature. Durint the course of the feature he advanced four spot on his way to a fourth place finish. The finish marked his third, top five finish in his last three starts. Full results are available at www.CajunSprintersAssociation.org.

April 28th, 2012 - Saturday night found the team in action at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida) in a Cajun Sprint Car Series (CSCS) event. It would prove to be a solid outing for Timmy as he earned the sixth starting spot for the feature via preliminary action before ultimately racing his way to a fourth place finish in the main event. Full results are available at www.CajunSprintersAssociation.org.

April 23rd, 2012 - It's no secret that racing is an expensive business and without great sponsors it is almost impossible to do. Industrial Corrosion Control, Inc (ICCI) has been a great sponsor on the #09 Thrash Motorsports Sprint Car for several years now, and their support has been greatly appreciated by the entire team. Unfortunately, due to the struggling economy the company is going to have to cease their sponsorship of the team, but hopes to come back on board in the future. Timmy and everyone with Thrash Motorsports would like to thank ICCI for their great support over the years.

With the loss of a great sponsor also comes the announcement of a new, great sponsor coming on board the #09 Thrash Motorsports Sprint Car for the 2012 campaign. Thrash Motorsports is excited to announce that Best Western Hotels of Mississippi has joined the team as a title sponsor for the 2012 season!

Thrash notes, "This is a huge deal for our team, and we couldn't be more excited to have Best Western Hotels of Mississippi on board as a team sponsor for this year. We know that racing fans are extremely loyal to the companies that support our sport, and that they will choose to stay in Best Western Hotels of Mississippi, whenever they can."

April 21st, 2012 - After bad luck on his past few outings to the track, Timmy was looking for a night of better luck on Saturday night as the Cajun sprint Car Series rolled into Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for an event. Unfortunately for the team, mechanical issues would again plague them early in the evening as carburetor issues prevented Thrash from starting the heat race, where he was slated to roll off the grid in the pole position. The team was able to remedy the issues in time for the feature, and after starting on the tail of the field Thrash would mount a great charge through the pack on his way to a third place finish. Full results are available at www.CajunSprintersAssociation.org.

April 3rd, 2012 - Here is an update on Austin Barker, who is a long-time friend crew chief for Thrash Motorsports:

Austin moved to the Hope Lodge in New Orleans on Thursday.  It is a facility run by the American Cancer Society and is less than 30 minutes from Tulane Childrens' Hospital.  He will have to stay there until June 2nd unless the oncologist releases him sooner.  He has been released to make day trips and has been home for several visits. He was even able to watch a LBHS baseball game on Saturday! He still has to stay away for crowded public places, restaurants and anyone who is sick or been around someone who is sick.

On Monday, Austin had a bone marrow biopsy in which the initial results show no leukemia cells.  The molecular results take longer to get back.  We are praying that there will be no early leukemia cells and to have 100% donor cells.  Austin is off all IV medications and the PICC line was removed.  He only has a port which they access at clinic.  He remains on a large amount of oral medications to help prevent rejection but they also decrease his immune system.

This has been a very rough few days.  As many of you know Austin's sister, Brittany Keegan, passed away Friday.  This was a big shock to everyone. Austin and Robby were able to drive home Friday and Saturday to talk with friends and family.  Please pray for Briitany's family and friends as they go through this difficult time.

April 1st, 2012 - Saturday night found Timmy making the trip to Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Alabama) for a Cajun Sprint Car Series event. The evening would start well for Thrash as he charged to his heat race win to lock into the pole position for the main event. As the feature went green he would assume the second position as he pursued the leader. His pursuit of the race lead would last until the race's midway point, when an over-heating engine forced him pitside to a disappointing DNF.

March 24th, 2012 - On Saturday night the team returned to action with the Cajun Sprint Car Series as the tour sanctioned an event at Baton Rouge Raceway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana). The night would not start well for Thrash though as a knocking sound from his engine forced him to scratch his entry from the program after hot laps. Luckily for Timmy fellow competitor, Carl Zaniboni, allowed Thrash to drive his car. Timmy would go on to record a fourth place finish in the feature.

Thrash would like to extend his extreme appreciation to Mr. Zaniboni for providing him with a ride for the night.

March 18th, 2012 - Timmy Thrash would like to welcome a couple of new sponsors to his program. Dr. David Kaplan, a vascular surgeon, has come on board as a sponsor.

Third Hand Assisting, Inc., which is a surgical assistance business, based in Louisiana, is a new addition as well. Not only is the company a new sponsor on the car, but owner, Joel Garrett, will also be a crew member this season. Timmy would like to thank Joel and his girlfriend, Melody Hassell, for their great support of the team.

Timmy Thrash Motorsports greatly appreciates both of these new sponsors as well as all of the other great sponsors of the teamfor their support.

March 3rd, 2012 - Timmy opened his 2012 campaign on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) with the annual Frostbuster. The $2,000-to-win event was sanctioned by the Goodyear USCS Sprint Car tour, and saw 27 cars register for battle. Motor issues in his heat race would force Thrash pitside, and resulted in him starting at the tail of the feature grid. Despite starting at the back of the feature grid, he would mount a great charge as he advanced to a thirteenth place finish at the checkered flag. For his efforts he received the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award. Full results are available at www.USCSRacing.com.

November 5th, 2011 - Timmy closed out his 2011 racing season over the weekend as he made the trip to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) for the annual Flip/Flop 50, which was sanctioned by the Goodyear USCS Sprint Car tour. A talented field of 35 Sprint Cars entered the event, and in Friday night action, Timmy would run second for much of his heat race before the leader checked up on the white flag lap. Thrash would check up as well, which allowed two cars to slip by relegating him to a fourth place finish.

Via his fourth place finish he was forced to run a b-main on Saturday night. In the b-main he would start second, but would battle the setup on his car on a very slick track, and would ultimatley slip back to a fifth place finish. With only the top four cars moving onto the feature his night and weekend would come to a disappointing early end. Full weekend results are available at www.RiversideInternationalSpeedway.com.

October 22nd, 2011 - After another lengthy break from racing, Timmy took part in a Cajun Sprint Car Series event at Pike County Speedway (McComb, Mississippi) on Saturday night. After a strong run in his heat race, Thrash would start on the front row for the feature and quickly jumped to the lead as the main event went green. He would lead the first twenty laps of the 25 lap affair before seeing his tires go away late in the event as he faded to a third place finish at the checkered flag.

August 13th, 2011 - After almost two months away from the cockpit of his #09 Sprint Car due to health issues, Timmy was finally able to return to action on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) with the Cajun Sprint Car Series. Unfortunately it would prove to be a frustrating night for Thrash.

With 21 Sprint Cars entered, Timmy earned the fourth starting spot for the main event and would advance two spots to initially record a second place finish at the checkered flag. However, in post race technical inspection, Thrash would be disqualified for being light at the scales.

June 18th, 2011 - Timmy returned to action on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in an unsanctioned, $1,000 to win, Sprint Car event. With 12 cars on hand, Thrash would advance to the sixth position before seeing his tires go away. As a result, he would cross the finish line in sixth.

Saturday night found the team at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Alabama) for another $1,000 to win, unsanctioned event. On a very rough track, Thrash would be running in the second position, when the decision was made to end the event short of its scheduled distance due to track conditions. As a result, he finished 2nd.

May 28th, 2011 - After almost a month away from the track, Timmy returned to the cockpit of his #09 Thrash Motorsports/Maxim at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Alabama) with the Cajun Sprint Car Series. With 28 cars entered, Thrash would pace the early laps of the event before spinning from the top spot. He would keep rolling but would fall back a few spots. He would go on to finish 5th at the checkered flag.

April 23rd, 2011 - It was back to action for Thrash Motorsports on Saturday night at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida). After starting on the outside front row of his heat race Thrash would fade through the pack with an ill-handling car to a 4th place finish. As a result he would be forced to start 17th in the grid for the main event. Despite a minimal amount of passing, Timmy would manage to work his way through the field to score a 7th place finish at the checkered flag.

April 9th, 2011 - After a one week break, Timmy was back in action with the Cajun Sprint Car Series on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway (McComb, Mississippi) in an event that drew a field of 21 Sprint Cars. Heat race action found Timmy starting on the pole, and he would lead early before jumping the cushion, which relegated him to a second place finish. Via his heat race performance, Thrash started ninth in the main event, and despite an ill-handling car would advance to a fifth place finish.

March 26th, 2011 - Thrash Motorsports entered a Cajun Sprint Car Series event on Saturday night at A-1 Raceway in Lacombe, Louisiana. With 20 cars on hand, the night would get off to a rough start for Timmy as contact from another car sent him flipping. The team would work hard to get the car ready for the feature event, and Thrash would be able to start on the tail of the field. Despite starting at the back with a wounded car, Timmy would mount a great charge through the pack as he came away with a 3rd place finish at the checkered flag.

March 19th, 2011 - It was back to business for Timmy on Saturday night as he traveled to Baton Rouge Raceway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) for a Cajun Sprinter Association event. Thrash's enthusiasm to return to action would soon be subdued as a frustrating night reigned supreme. In heat race action, he would battle carburetor issues to a third place finish, and in the main event, Thrash made contact with the wall resulting in two flat tires and an early end to the evening. He was credited with a 15th place finish.

March 16th, 2011 - As Timmy Thrash Motorsports continues to prepare to return to action, the team is excited to announce the addition of another major sponsor as Industrial Powder Coating has come on board to sponsor the team for the 2011 season. Industrial Powder Coating, located in Gulfport, Misissippi is an industry leading company in all of your powder coating needs.

Thrash will be debuting the company's logo on his car at his next scheduled event this Saturday, March 19th in a Cajun Sprint Car Association, sanctioned event at Baton Rouge Raceway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)

February 25th, 2011 - Timmy made the last minute decision to enter the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series event on Friday night at Pike County Speedway (McComb, Mississippi). Despite competing with a 360 c.i. motor Thrash qualified for the coveted feature event and would retire early from the event to a 23rd place finish.

February 19th, 2011 - The finale for the King of the 360's was held on Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park. In heat race action, Timmy failed to earn a transfer spot to the feature, and as a result was forced to run the b-main. In the b-main, Thrash raced his way into a transfer spot to the feature. In the main event Timmy would go on to record a 19th place finish at the famed, 1/3 mile.

February 18th, 2011- Night #2 of the King of the 360's was held on Friday night at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida as 41 cars signed in for battle. After starting deep in a heat race, Thrash was unable to make up much ground, which left him starting deep in a b-main. Timmy advanced to a seventh place finish in the consolation event, which still left him short of earning a transfer spot to the main event.

February 17th, 2011 - Timmy opened 2011 on Thursday night at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) in the first of three nights of 360 Nationals action. With 43 Sprint Cars on hand Thrash finished fourth in his heat race, which relegated him to running the b-main. Timmy was confident about his chances for racing into the main event, but a broken shock on the first lap brought his night to a disappointing end.
